Rictus Frénétique - exotic fruit and spice rum, 49% spirit drink

Arranged rum relies on a long maceration with sugar, which weighs down the spices as much as it masks the fruit. Our infusion technique is an entirely different process. It is a method of LEGBA's own, which we do not disclose: in an eight-ingredient recipe, it is what keeps each spice distinct.

White rhum agricole, apple, pineapple, coconut, mango, cinnamon, clove, ginger, mandarin peel. No artificial flavouring, no colouring. Bottle hand-sealed with beeswax.

The fruity apple and pineapple base joins the exotic notes of coconut and mango, while cinnamon, clove and ginger bring a spiced finish. The fruit opens the palate, the spices arrive at the end.

Can it be drunk hot, like mulled wine?
It is not recommended: at 49% vol, heating the alcohol would make it harsh. Serve it chilled instead, or pour a small measure into a hot infusion that is already prepared.

Can I taste it before buying a bottle?
Yes. It is available as a 50 ml vial at 9 €, to choose in the selector above. Enough to form a full opinion before moving on to the 500 ml.

How does it differ from a commercial spiced rum?
Industrial spiced spirits are generally flavoured after the fact. Here the spices are whole and infused in the rum, with no added flavouring. The result is drier and more direct.

Do the spices overpower the fruit?
No, the order is reversed: the fruit opens the palate, the spices arrive at the end. That is what makes it less heavy than a purely spiced spirit.

Is there an alcohol-free version?
