Which gift box to give: a guide by recipient

The question we get asked at markets is never "which one is the best". It is "I'm giving it to someone who...", and the rest of the sentence changes everything.

So here are our gift boxes sorted by recipient rather than by price, with, for each one, what makes it a good fit and what makes it a poor one.

For someone who does not know it at all

The risk here is betting on one flavour and getting it wrong. The solution is not to bet.

The discovery pack, 39.50 € - four 50 ml vials in a wooden box, two at 40% vol and two at 49% vol. The recipient explores both families of the range and finds out for themselves what speaks to them. It is our default answer to this situation, and by far the safest.

The Spirale gift box, 39 € - same logic, six 5 cl miniatures in a black case, so six profiles instead of four. Choose it if you prefer maximum variety and more understated packaging.

For someone who already knows it, and likes it

Here, the discovery format misses the point: the person does not need to taste, they want to have some.

The simplest option is then a 500 ml bottle chosen from the range. If you are unsure, our quiz points towards the bottles that match their tastes, and the 40% vol remain the most widely liked choice.

For someone who does not drink alcohol

Two gift boxes are built for this, with no compromise and no bottle slipped in.

The Respire gift box, 29 € - two teas, one herbal infusion and ten natural handmade incense sticks. It is our most versatile alcohol-free gift, and the least expensive of the complete gift boxes.

The Essence gift box, 64 € - a cast-iron teapot, two loose teas and an infusion with visible fruit and petals. The object makes the difference: a cast-iron teapot lasts for years, which makes it a gift that stays.

The infusion Christmas baubles, 30 € - clear baubles filled with teas and herbal infusions, to hang on the tree and then brew. It is the most unexpected gift in the catalogue, and the one that makes the biggest impression when opened.

For an important gift

The Coffret Arcane, 79 € - a 500 ml bottle, two teas, one herbal infusion, ten incense sticks and a tea infuser ball. It is the only one that brings together all three ranges, so the only one that tells the whole LEGBA story. Keep it for occasions that warrant it, and for someone you are not sure will prefer rum, tea or incense: here the question no longer arises.

When you really do not know

The tasting gift card, 25 € per person - two hours at the greenhouse, in Francheville in the Jura, with a sharing board of nibbles. You are not giving a product, you are giving a moment, and the recipient chooses the date. Valid for twelve months, transferable, and if they come alone we add them to a group that is already scheduled.

It is the only gift on this list that assumes nothing about the recipient's tastes.

Two things to know before ordering

Contents vary from batch to batch. Our gift boxes are put together by hand in small quantities, and the selection changes with what is available at the workshop. The structure stays the same - the number of vials, the split between strengths - but the recipes may differ. Write to us at contact@legba.fr if you would like to know the current contents.
