Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
Is it a chai?
It shares the spirit of one: black tea and warm spices. The difference is that a traditional chai is made with milk and sugar, whereas this one is designed to be drunk plain. Nothing stops you adding a dash of milk if you like.
What does Ceylon OP mean?
OP stands for Orange Pekoe, a grade of long, whole leaf. It has nothing to do with oranges: it is a quality standard that ensures few broken leaves, and therefore a less harsh cup.
Can I drink it with milk?
Yes, it takes milk very well. Its robust base and its spices are not lost, unlike a more delicate tea. For a plant-based milk, oat goes well with the cinnamon and vanilla.
Is it high in theine?
Like all black teas, it contains more theine (caffeine) than a green tea. Best kept for the morning or afternoon. For a theine-free spiced option in the evening, see the Élixir des Druides Infusion.
