Epidemic - strawberry, coconut and pineapple rum, 49% spirit drink

Arranged rum relies on a long maceration with sugar, which rounds off and masks the fruit. Our infusion technique is an entirely different process. It is a method of LEGBA's own, which we do not disclose: it reveals the fruit instead of drowning it.

White agricultural rum, strawberry, coconut, pineapple. No artificial flavouring, no colouring. Unfiltered.

Neat, chilled or over an ice cube. The tangy pineapple opens the palate, the strawberry settles in, and the coconut comes through discreetly on the finish: an Epidemic signature you will not find anywhere else.

Why is it cloudy?
Because it is not filtered. Filtration removes particles but also some of the aromas. We prefer to keep the cloudiness and the taste. A slight sediment is normal, it is not a defect.

Can I taste it before buying a bottle?
Yes. It is available as a 50 ml vial at 9 €, to choose in the selector above. Enough to form a full opinion before moving on to the 500 ml.

Does the coconut make it sweet?
No. The coconut brings a sense of roundness on the finish, but the palate stays dry. That is where the difference shows with a commercial strawberry-coconut arranged rum, whose roundness comes from maceration with sugar.

What cocktail can I make with it?
Its strawberry-pineapple profile works very well as a daiquiri base, or topped up with sparkling water and a dash of lime. No need to add syrup, the fruit notes are already there.

Why the beeswax on the cork?
It is a seal made by hand, bottle by bottle. It protects the cork and shows that the bottle has never been opened. Simply break the wax when opening.
