Valse Vaudou - lemon and hibiscus rum, 49% spirit drink

Arranged rum relies on a long maceration with sugar, hence its heaviness. Our infusion technique is an entirely different process. It is a method we developed ourselves and do not disclose: on a floral, herbaceous base like this one, it is what makes such a dry profile possible.

Agricole rum, green rooibos, white hibiscus, pineapple, lemon peel, marigold flowers, stevia leaf. No artificial flavouring, no colouring. Bottle sealed with beeswax, by hand.

Neat, chilled or over an ice cube. A balance between floral softness and citrus freshness, light and complex at the same time. The whole evokes a lemon meringue pie.

Why stevia, and in what form?
Whole stevia leaf, infused like the other plants in the recipe, rather than an extract or a synthetic additive. It is present as the tiniest touch, to underline the meringue effect on the finish. It is the only bottle in the range that contains it.

Can I taste it before buying a bottle?
Yes. It is available as a 50 ml vial at 9 €, which you can choose in the selector above. Enough to form a complete opinion before moving up to the 500 ml.

Why do you say it is the driest?
Because its base is floral and herbaceous rather than fruity: green rooibos, white hibiscus and marigold flowers dominate. There is little fruity roundness, hence a noticeably drier sensation than our other bottles.

How do you get a lemon pie flavour?
Through the meeting of lemon peel with green rooibos and the hint of stevia leaf: the citrus brings the acidity, the rooibos the shortcrust pastry note, the stevia the echo of meringue. No artificial flavouring is involved.

Who is it for?
For those who find arranged rums too sweet. If you are looking for something fruity and round, head for Le Mangomancien instead.
